WATER SYSTEM TREATMENT
Removes diesel odour & taste from contaminated water systems
Accidentally putting diesel
in your water tank can be a costly headache.
BioMagic 'Diesel in Water' can help remove diesel odour and taste residue from water systems, saving you time and money.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
BioMagic 'Diesel In Water' is designed to help remove that last bit of diesel odour and taste that is difficult to remove.
Before using BioMagic 'Diesel In Water', it is important to try and remove as much of the diesel from the system as possible. This will allow the product to work on the residue in the pipework and surfaces, rather than all being used up on globules of diesel.
INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE:
- Diesel floats on water.
- It is sticky and coats every surface it touches, including the ceiling of the tank.
- When cleaning, remember to include the less thought about parts such as the
water tank inlet pipe and cap, and hot water system (if you have one).
BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE, FIRST DO THIS:
1) If you have put diesel in your main water tank, but have not pumped diesel through the system, if possible immediately disconnect the tank from the rest of the system so as to reduce contamination and restrict cleaning to the tank only.
2) If there is water and diesel in the water tank, the diesel will float on the water. If possible, use a pump to carefully suck as much diesel off the top of the water as possible. This will help to reduce contamination.
3) Drain / flush out contaminated water from the tank, and from the rest of the water system if required. Don’t forget the hot water system.
PRE-PRODUCT CLEANING STEPS:
To give the product the best chance of success, some cleaning is required.
1) Starting with an empty water tank, pour in ~100ml of non-toxic detergent such as basic dish washing liquid.
2) Fill up the tank with warm water (if possible). Because diesel will be on the inside of the inlet pipe, make sure it flows out the inlet.
3) If diesel is also in the system, open all the taps to allow the mixture to fill all the pipes, then close the taps. Agitate and let it sit over night if possible.
4) Empty out tank and or entire system.
5) Pour ~200ml of methylated spirits into the empty tank.
6) REPEAT STEPS 2 TO 4, then flush entire system with water.
WATER TASTE TEST:
7) At this point it is worth doing a water taste test. The steps taken may already be enough to clean the system. If YES, you are done, no need for the product.
If NO, you can choose to repeat the dish soap and methylated spirits cleaning cycles if you feel it is required, or proceed to STEP 8.
APPLY PRODUCT IF REQUIRED:
8) Add 500ml of BioMagic 'Diesel in Water' to the empty water tank.
9) REPEAT STEPS 2 TO 4, then flush entire system with clean water.
10) There should be no diesel taste or odour. If some diesel residue still remains, repeat the BioMagic cleaning cycle with the remaining 500ml.
